Seppi forestry mulcher stands up to a torture test in extremely rocky terrain
Barry Walker is a sales rep for T.I.C Parts & Service and the owner & operator of his own forestry mulching business. He sells Seppi machines, and he also chooses Seppi for his own business and attaches them to his skid steer in the extreme rocky terrain of Manitoba, Canada. He explains why he uses Seppi mulchers and how they outperform the competition every time.
How I discovered Seppi
"I had never heard about Seppi until about a year ago. I work as a sales rep for T.I.C but also have my own mulching business on the side as a hobby. I was having constant issues with breakdowns and downtime with my previous forestry mulcher and felt like I was always in the shop for repairs. Finally, my sales rep at a competing company told me about Seppi attachments. I watched some of their videos, read the reviews, and it looked like they really make a good machine.
"I talked with Mark, the Seppi sales rep for western Canada, and I told him about my business and my needs. After a couple conversations he asked if T.I.C would be interested in selling Seppi machines. I did my research and decided it would be a good move. Just like that I started using their mulchers for my own business and selling them at my job."
It seems to be unbreakable!
"I'm a very vocal person when I believe in something, and I wanted to test the limits of my new MINIFORST 150 cl from Seppi. I work on very rocky terrain and really put it through the ringer. To this very day after hundreds of hours with the mulcher, I haven't found a way to break it. I've hit hundreds of boulders. I've even intentionally put a checkerboard on an exposed rock just to see if I could break it. Even after intentionally grinding that rock, I had no broken or chipped teeth and no vibration.
"One time, I hit a boulder so hard that if I didn't have the cross bar across my lap in my skid steer, I probably would have broken my nose and my jaw against the door. It was middle of the night and I was finishing up a job late because of a time crunch. I was going through willows at about 2 MPH and I hit a rock that was sticking out of the ground 24". Keep in mind that the MINIFORST is not a rock mulcher, it's a forestry mulcher. After hitting the rock, I backed up, turned the rotor on, and the machine started working flawlessly without any vibrations. I worked another 8 hours that night and still use it to this day."
It pays for itself because the teeth last and last
"I've sold and worked with a lot of different brands over the years. In Manitoba, we deal with a lot of large buried boulders that are difficult to spot. Using competitors' brands, I've had chipped, broken hammers and a vibrating machine within the first hour. On some jobs, 90% of the time needed to complete the project was downtime. But I've put hundreds of hours on my Seppi MINIFORST 150 cl forestry mulcher and have never had to replace any components. Mulcher teeth can be hundreds of dollars apiece, and the money you save by not replacing teeth pays for the machine itself in no time. On top of that, it can be attached quickly to any skid steer, cutting your downtime even more."
Seppi provides outstanding customer service
"As both a customer and a dealer for Seppi products, I can tell you that their service is second to none. Once I had an accident that damaged the mulcher. The issue that caused the accident was with my skid steer not the mulcher, but Seppi still helped me out with the repairs. For me that's huge when a manufacturer stands behind their products and goes the extra mile for their customers."
